Wild Atlantic Way, Day One:

We finished packing up the van and left Claire's house around 12pm and headed towards Co. Wicklow where we would stay for the night. We stopped off at a service station just north of Dublin and had our lunch, we stocked up before we left so we had some veggie burgers that we cooked on our new gas stove along with some chips that we bought from the restaurant. This was the first time that we used our cooking facilities, and the first time that we realised the freedom of van life, being able to pull up wherever we wanted and be able to cook our lunch and have a cup of tea or coffee. Once we finished our lunch we continued on our route through Dublin and then taking the scenic route through the beautiful Wicklow mountains to get our campsite for the night, Roundwood camping. The campsite was €30 for the night, it had all the facilities that we required; toilets, showers, dishwashing, and plenty of maps of the local area. There was also a park, a communal kitchen area and laundry facilities. We parked on a large grassy area that had other vans parked around the edge. Once we had our pitch decided we took a drive around the surrounding reservoirs and got some great photographs of us in the van surrounded by the Wicklow mountains, this is where we also filmed our van tour video for my YouTube channel. After our local sightseeing we headed back to the campsite. We started to prepare our dinner for the night which was vegetable curry with rice and we cracked open a beer and had a relaxing evening.
